Hi! My name is Susan and I had a left total hip done about 6 years ago and never have had any problems. This past January, I had my right hip done with problems from day one. Pain very excruciating and with several visits to my surgeon. He told me that I had sciatica. I'm an RN, working on a neuroscience floor and I knew it wasn't sciatica. He did an x-ray and said everything looked great. I knew there was something wrong so I asked him for a second opinion. I had another surgeon from his practice see me. He looked at the x-ray taken a few weeks prior by the other surgeon. He said that I needed surgery ASAP as I had a fractured femur. So the following week I had a right hip revision. Everything was good until two weeks ago where I started having right thigh pain. This is now worsening where I need a cane. Now my groin is hurting. I did some grocery shopping today and I had the hardest time getting into my car to drive home. My thigh and groin hurt so badly I was crying. I finally got my leg in the car. I left the groceries in the car and made it to my bed. I have taken Motrin, Advil, Aleve, Excedrin Migraine. Nothing touches this pain. I'm almost afraid to call my surgeon because I'm afraid he's going to tell me that this is a normal condition post-op and just go home and rest. My husband is really concerned as well so I will make an appointment tomorrow. My problem with some doctors is that they don't listen to their patients. We know our body better than anyone, right? Well, I just needed to vent to people who are in the same boat as I am. I appreciate anyone listening. Thank you.

I had left total hip replacement anterior approach 3 years ago. Within 4 months, I had 2 dislocations and a revision was done. Last year I had right hip replacement and fortunately no dislocation. But the last 6 months I’ve suffered with horrible thigh pain with it being a lot worse on left. After going through 3 surgeries, I have put this off as long as possible but decided tomorrow I’m calling to get in ASAP with my surgeon. I need answers! A part of me is a little excited to find that others are experiencing the same problem but I haven’t come across anyone that has received answers as to the cause. This is horrible and excruciating pain that changes your daily life. There has to be a solution and I’m saying lots of prayers that we all find one very soon. Good luck to everyone!

Watch the Netflix show called The Bleeding Edge. It is all about body inserts that do harm, hips included. If cobalt has been used in your hip it is very bad.

I think when we give the symptoms to the Dr,, they know exactly what it is,, but will not admit to what it is. If its something they did,, they are afraid of being sued.. I told mine exactly that,, and said,, after 23 years of doing this,, you should know what it is.
