Thanks Rob. Your comments do hep me look at things with a better prospective. My spouse is also my best friend and the greatest blessing I have ever had. He says I should not worry and has said it more than once. I guess I should listen to him. We do have a better relationship everyday and the cancer certainly brought us to even greater communication.
Thanks, Nisho
I have been on monthly Lupron injections for 21 years. I’m alive! Hormone therapy works if you are sensitive to the deprivation. Within two years, ALL hormones associated sexual desire intimacy, and the ability to feel “in love” are gone. I don’t notice this loss - it’s what the deprivation does. The real loser is my wife. She has stuck with me. She is the real cancer survivor, not me! As we age, we are one another’s caregiver. She is my best friend. I couldn’t live without her and I don’t think she could live without me. Sex is simply not what it’s held up to be! There’s so much more to a healthy relationship.
Could not agree more! I am on same boat. I do have the best wife in the world. After all the treatment to keep me alive my sex life was gone and still is. But our love for each other is stronger than ever. Take care.
This site is a big help to me as I learn from others that are in a similar physical and medical and emotional level and I learn from others who have researched the medical issues and reached a decision. I may not agree with the decision but their thought process and their posting is helpful to me and helps me to really realize that I am not the only one struggling with PC. Hence, thanks to all.
I have prostate cancer that has spread to the bones...I'm at 4 months since diagnosis. They gave me the drug Casodex for a month, then started me on the drug 'Erleada'..
I have been on Erleada for 2 months and have over whelming fatigue and severe diarrhea...Anyone else have these symptoms? I was trying to keep active with cycling and walking, but the fatigue and diarrhea are just draining me..
Do the symptoms get better? For me, they seem to be getting worse. My Urologist said to stop taking the Erleada for 2 weeks to see what happens. I asked if this was okay, and he said "I think so".....Shouldn't he KNOW so??? Has anyone else quit taking Erleada for 2 weeks?
I was on Erleada with ADT for 13 months in a Jansen, UCLA clinical trial. I was very tired and slept poorly the entire time and gained 20 pounds. Also my blood pressure went up. No other symptoms and I have been off of meds for 6 months and finally feel great. I hope to continue to feel great, but, I suspect to new drugs and more are in my future. The clinical trial evidence was that I should have event free survival for 41 months, and I am in 20 months of that. Gleason 9, CR, advanced 76. Good Luck.

I was on Casodex for just 2 weeks. then zytiga and eligard for 6 Mo. Only minor symptoms. I'm 73, and way past man-o-pause. it might have something to do with it.
Prostate radiated in 17 then on Zolodex In 20 it showed up in L2 which I had radiated 1 inch out and put back on Zolodex In 23 Jan in L2 so put on Xtandi and Xgeva for bone metastasis No big side effects PSA back down from 9.8 to 1.7 in 3 months Feel great at 78 Drug could work for 18 to 60 months then something else they say
Did genealogy blood test as 10% cancers are hereditary If so they have something to add with Xtandi
See Medical oncologist Sep 18 Enjoy life and every day Early PSA test Aug 8th at my request
