Hi @da69, I would definitely sign up for the patient portal even though it's not required. I like that the portal makes it easy to add the appointment to my calendar on my iPhone. When you have multiple appointments on a day, it also is easier to look at the portal to find the times and locations without having to carry printouts with you. Probably one of the biggest advantages for me mentioned by Laurie @roch is being able fill out any questionnaires using the portal and not having to do it at the appointment desk.
@da69, In addition to what Laurie has shared, I like the Mayo Patient portal because I can see at a glance my entire schedule of appointments (with details) and I can even set reminders if I choose .
It can be easily transferred to calendar on my iphone for easy reference throughout the day(s) of appointments with online checkin!
Here is where you can read more about the online log in - or - create a new account. https://onlineservices.mayoclinic.org/content/staticpatient/showpage/patientonline
I'll be there in a couple weeks, and I will be pre-checked-in and ready to get my day going at 6:45. And I know from experience, that if there are any changes needed, or further communications from my health care team, they will be easy to view in an instant.
After I return home, I will be able to access my records. This is unlike my local health facility!
Visiting Mayo in 2 weeks...Have patient portal set up and kinda have it figured out....Is there any videos or anything to help navigate the site?

One advantage of using the Mayo portal prior to your appointments is the ability to fill out any forms / questionnaires prior to checking in.
If do not fill out ahead of time, the desk attendant will give you tablet to complete the forms while waiting for appointment.
The portal can be used from computer (browser) or smart phone. By downloading the app on your smart phone, you can access while at clinic.

Thank you everyone i will register for portal before i head to rochester.
Coincidence??? I just got an email from Mayo Patient portal telling me that I can not complete my pre-check for my upcoming appointments !
YIKES: I’ll blame it on Spell Check🙀—-
Mayo said I CAN NOW complete my PreCheck.
@da69 - I hope you see this correction. 🤞
