Excruciating abdominal pain- all tests fine
I had some bouts of quite bad abdominal pain for around 30 minutes a day for a couple of weeks. Then on Friday night it became excruciating. It wouldn’t subside and I ended up in A&E. It was so bad I was writhing around and screaming in pain. Nothing touched it apart from morphine. My blood tests, urine sample and physical examination were all fine. They sent me home with a prescription for morphine and said they couldn’t find anything wrong. I’m very concerned because to be at that level of pain there must be something untoward going on. At one point it was so bad I just wanted to die in that moment to stop it. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this or have an idea as to what this could be? My doctor was testing me for celiacs and IBS before this happened, however, although incredibly painful, I’m not sure that the agony I was in is anything to do with this. It felt like my organs were going to explode or like being stabbed repeatedly with a scorching hot knife all around my lower back, sides and from my pelvis to just below the breast bone.

I know a friend that has horrible pain with IBS.
Did anyone ask about gallbladder? I ended up in ER once in terrible pain, they ran tests and did not find anything wrong. Happen again few weeks later and saw my primary. After multiple episodes, discovered it was gallbladder. When removed, it was full of gallstones.
I would suggest keeping food and symptoms records. See if can find a pattern, certain food, certain amount time after eating, certain time of day, etc...

All my tests were good also but when they took gallbladder out and cut it open, they discovered I had chloritus...not sure bout spelling but it's a gallbladder disease.
@kaande0104 . Were you check for kidney stones? Your symptoms remind me of when I had a huge kidney stone that was stuck in my kidney and would not move through the ureter. It’s unbelievably painful. This happened to me awhile ago and was identified through ultrasound and x-ray. Are you still in a lot of pain today?
A laparoscopy is the only way that Endometriosis can be ruled out. But that causes significant pain in the areas your describe.
Have you had any previous abdominal or pelvic surgeries?
No they didn’t offer any potential diagnoses. I was just going to go back to my doctor after the bank holiday and suggest a few things, I’ll definitely mention the gallbladder
No. I’m 25 and in pretty good health usually. It’s like it started with the feeling of heaviness in my pelvis. I do a lot of heavy lifting at work so I was thinking I’d pulled something or had a prolapse but then the pain just became excruciating.
The doctor said that because of my age (I’m 25) they wouldn’t be expecting kidney stones. I did consider it as I have been peeing a lot more than usual but there no pain associated with that or any blood.
Hey there,
I have experienced something very similar to this. My abdominal cramping episodes would last for about an hour every couple of weeks as a result of chronic constipation. I’ve had two colonoscopies and been to countless gastroenterologists only to be diagnosed with IBS. The pain you are describing is extremely similar to mine. I felt like I was dying and it would start with a racing heart, sweating, and a sort of dissociation because of the intense pain I was in. Doctors think it could be a side effect of my antidepressant. Are you on any other medications?
