You're right to be informed about medications that may cause damage or undue stress on the liver. You don't want to help one issue and worsen the other. Are the infusions and steroids helping?

I have ITP and MDS. The ITP is what affects my platelets. I have had this for 7yrs. I am low risk MDS. my platelets run around 33 to 40and no treatments. They have even dropped to 20 when I had an infection and put on rounds of antibiotics. I take papaya leaf extract and wheatgrass and it brings my platelets up. You can find them on Amazon. Also papaya leaf tea. So
It is a slow progress but that’s ok. I need hip and knee surgery so they tried platelet transfusions and they didn’t work. They put me on steroids and my platelets shot up to 80 and I still wasn’t finished the steroids. I had 2 days left out of 5. So I can have the surgery. That is when they diagnosed me with ITP. Not a fan of steroids but will take them for surgery and then stop.
