Hi
Have you ever tried Melatonin? I have nocturnal seizures so it's very important that I don't become sleep deprived. I started to take 10 mg of Melatonin about an hour before I go to bed and it works a treat. It's a natural hormone so it's quite safe to take. I think most countries sell it over the counter - I have to buy mine on line as you need a script in Australia to buy it I think if everyone used it sleeping tablets would become redundent and the drug companies wouldn't like that.

Yes, I have tried it. My issue is the constant shocks, and now that the weather is getting warmer, sweats. It doesn’t matter what I’ve tried the night before, it’s been like this for decades, but getting worse. I’m going to look up nocturnal seizures, my oldest son has epilepsy, and we’ve talked that I might have something related. I’m exhausted all the time, I’ve changed diet to reduce calories, carbs. I’m overweight by 25 lbs, and so far I’ve lost 17lbs. Thank you for giving me another path to try.

Please be careful with melatonin!
It is poorly researched. It is a brain produced hormone. We don’t know it’s role in body functioning. It has a critical role in mammalian puberty.
The body produces @ 100 micrograms. A dose of 10 mg is 100 times more. That dose probably shuts down the body production.
It’s impact on sleep is probably a secondary effect. And is probably short term.
