Any other females here with bladder cancer in their 50s?
Saying hello as a new member. Sometimes it's difficult to find info for females with bladder cancer, and sometimes it would be nice to have others to connect with.
Start BCG again in May. Have been off of it since December. It has been so nice not to have to think about any of that for a while. Starting to get nervous though, with bcg beginning again very soon. Praying the cancer stays away.
I think I'm the youngest one where I'm being treated. Any other females here with bladder cancer in their 50's?

Hello! I'm also a new member , I'm 56, and am still waiting for my scope to get my official diagnosis of ureter and possibly bladder or kidney cancer. I'm having my scope on May 19th. From all of my scans they strongly suspect Transitional Cell Carcinoma. Is that what you have? I'm so sorry that you have been through so much already and have to start treatment again. I'll be praying that the cancer stays away. If I may ask a question... How long after your scope did you get your results?
Hi Podrunner1, so nice to meet you! And thank you so much for the response.
I have high grade urothelial non muscle invasive bladder cancer. It took longer than expected. It was the holidays and I want to say it was a couple of weeks. I had a cystoscopy in his office, they got me in for TURBT surgery at the hospital, and it was approximately 2 weeks after that when I received my results. He said protocol was to remove tumor, then BCG treatments for the next 3 years. They started out with 6, and all cystoscopy checks have been negative so 3 treatments every 3 months for the first 18 months, then twice a year. If everything stays negative the BCG treatments will only be annually after that.
I'm so sorry to learn that you are awaiting your diagnosis. I know how anxious you must be feeling, Podrunner1. If you have any questions, or just need to talk I'm here for you. I will be praying for good results for you. God bless you.
Talltxlady, thanks so much for getting back with me! You are so kind and it's very nice to meet you as well.😁 Yes, I am very anxious right now. I worry a lot about my family and not myself. They rely on me so much for my love and support. I lost my mom last May and know how hard it is to lose that. Anyway, the cancer diagnosis and the type just need to be confirmed at this point. I'm a very positive person so, have been laughing my way through this as much as I can. Laughter really is the best medicine! Hope that you have a great day and God bless!
Yes ma'am, laughter and faith. You hang in there.
Also, if the place where you are going has a Patient Portal, make sure you put everything in writing. Sometimes that can get things moving quicker than just a phone call. The nice, squeaky wheel will be oiled first. I just know the answers you need will be coming asap. Please keep us posted, as will I.
Hang in there and have a wonderful, blessed day. I know your family is all keeping you in prayer 🤗🙏🌞
Yes, laughter and faith together are the best way to get through anything! Oh girl I know, the patient portal is my best friend. lol I have messaged my doctors back and forth all day more than once. lol Thanks for the tip though! 😁 I know that a lot of people don't know that you can get a much better response on the portal than you can by phone. Yes I will definitely keep everyone updated and will look forward to seeing updates from you. May God bless you and keep you. 🙏🤗😁
I have had stage II muscle invasive bladder cancer and am now cancer free and doing my own version of maintenance as follows:
You might want to look at taking 95% standardized curcumin wit black pepper extract to both help recovery and possibly inhibit reccurrance, I would reccomend 1000 mg doses posssibly more than once a day. It is know to reduce side effects of treatment.

Also "timed release" vitamin C is helpful for building the immune system.
There are now less invasive ways to check for reccurance than cystoscopy. You can now take a simple DNA blood test customized for your biopsy cancer DNA. I have taken the Signatera https://www.natera.com/ and just to make sure there was no false negative I also took the Galleri test, which also looks for many other types of cancer. I believe Natura is FDA approved while Galleri is not yet approved, But I think it will be.
Thank you so much @donsunlover. This is such great info. I truly appreciate your taking the time to share. Stay Blessed 🙏
I wish you the best of luck with your diagnosis and possible treatments if positive. 🙏
Hello z277 and thank you so much for your support! I hope that you're having a good weekend! 🙏🤗😁
Hi, New to this group, too. Granted you posted this a while ago, I hope you are feeling well.
I was diagnosed last year at 62, just a lit over 50's. Bladder cancer is more prevalant in males, although there is more recent increase in women.
Take care of yourself. 🙂 OOPS!! Accidently posted twice. lol. Apparantly, it takes a bit to post...
