I’m 78 and have had Grover’s disease since I was in my early 30s. Never cared for fish and seldom eat it. Mine is the result of a severe sunburn From 1975. It comes and goes, but has been dormant since I began photo therapy several years ago.
I ate lots of tuna and swordfish in the past, now I limit it. Same goes with mussels. Like you nodjabnoj after several years of dormancy I started getting the beginning of a GD outbreak a few months ago and began blending up cilantro again a few times a week on and off for a month. It calmed but I still have a few minor areas so have resumed cilantro about every other day. Insidious yes and let's hope for us the suffering years are behind us.
Fortunately, my outbreak is limited to a small area on my torso. I'm doing the Cilantro oil, have been for a while. It seems. to work. I do it every day, a stronger dose than prescribed. Hope your gardening is going well.

nodgabnoj- I'm sorry for the confusion, I thought you were referring to using cilantro oil on the body for GD affected areas. Are you ingesting your oil? I tried swallowing cilantro oil capsules initially and had no success, but fresh or fresh frozen blended cilantro put it into dormancy for years and when future outbreaks initially begin, as they have now 3 years later, I drink blended cilantro for weeks until the skin goes calm. I just blend 1/2 bunch with some water and chug it down Simple.
Have you or others tried putting cilantro oil on the skin?

I'm 82 and have had the rash since 1992 (biopsy). No itch first 15 years and then it itched for 18 months until a UCSF dermatologist prescribed Gabapentin which I took for 13 years and had no itch. It started again about 18 months ago when the Gabapentin just seemed to stop working. Now I'm taking Hydroxyzine to get some sleep or using Eucerin Itch relief. I'm going to be finding a new dermatologist and will ask for photo therapy. What color light did you use?
The circular booth contains fluorescent-type tubes aligned vertically and surrounding me. Tubes are about seven feet high. Each session lasts two minutes, give or take. The duration and intensity are pre-set by the technician, as per the dermatologist's instructions.
I started seven years ago at three treatments a week, with gradual reduction to one maintenance treatment per week as my skin cleared. That is where I have been for the past year.
Stepping into a three-foot diameter booth for two minutes once a week is a small sacrifice for the relief it brings.

What brand cilantro oil & where do you buy it?
I never though of using cilantro oil. Thanks.
I believe it's as effective as the fresh, but who knows.
I've been using Herb Pharm and I get it from Amazon. You can probably buy it at any Healthfood store.

Are you putting the oil directly on the rash or are you putting it on food or drink?
