OMG! This is my story! I also had intestinal prolapse surgery and I am now trying to balance, constipation and diarrhea. your story is very disheartening since it’s been only 2 months post surgery for me and I was hoping I just needed more time. Now I think I may never be normal again. Please keep me posted

I have a friend who told me she had colon surgery and she said it took over a year to get back to "normal" I don't know... I remember my Surgeon advising me that the time it takes to bounce back also has to do with age.... and sometimes there is a chance the surgery can "undo" itself too... so "straining" is never an option... yoga and deep exhaling and inhaling.. even while sitting with your feet on a squatty potty...

I had minor gynecological surgery last year that afterwards required radiation and Chemo therapy and since then it has taken nearly a year to finally get back to some form of regularity. Since I studied medical technology decades ago, I tend to diagnose everything and I think I may have finally gotten this issue right. Since Chemo wipes out the normal bacterial flora in the digestive tract, it takes time to rebuild it. I tried several things before I discovered a probiotic for women's vaginal and digestive health that has worked the best. It's gentle and effective. It's Nature's Way Pearls and I purchase them on amazon. They seem to be working well for me.
Getting back to normal takes time. So as they say "keep on keeping on." Your body is a natural healing mechanism."
