Living with diverticulitis: How do I keep it from coming back?
How do I keep this from coming back? My Dr. Has no solutions, and I wish I could be more aware when it will flare up.

2 ReactionsWhat is a brand for stool softener? My problem is that I do not have a BM every day, but every two or three days has been my normal life. Thanks.

1 ReactionJust the store brand ducosate sodium. The dosage is between 1 and 4 capsules. I take one at night. If I don’t have a BM, I take 2 the next day. So far, this has been working. The overnight oats for breakfast really helps as well.

2 ReactionsAlthough I do not have diverticulitis that I'm aware of (I seem to have everything else). While I do have bouts of pancreatitis and must be on clear liquids also. I drank alot of beef & chicken broth and transitioned into soft...I keep either cooked rice or noodles on hand and added to the hot broth. Noodles might be more beneficial to you before rice as rice is small enough to be bothersome. Good luck to all,

3 ReactionsHi @maxine50
As @warrendog mentioned Colace or the generic (docusate sodium) is helpful. Also, MiraLAX (or the generic) is a good stool softener as well. MiraLAX is tasteless and can be mixed in hot or cold beverages.
