After I nebulize with the 7% saline , a lot of mostly clear mucus comes up…but it sticks in my throat for a while and it scares me…I am huffing and doing things suggested to get the rest of it up ………I am having a very hard time mentally with all of this…..I hope the NJH gives me an appointment soon. I feel like I’m going down hill. I’m sorry to sound so negative but I can’t handle this. I wake up sick and feel sick a lot….what’s the point? I hope my visit with NJH will somehow strike a chord and help me out of this depression and fear. I learned that I have MAC only a couple months ago and no doctors have helped me here …maybe being in the NJH environment with doctors who are the best will make a difference for me. Gaining knowledge…..You guys have helped me a lot, but I’m struggling and having a very hard time keeping it together mentally.
Has anyone been where I am mentally and improved? I am crying out in the wilderness……

Is it possible to see a specialist for the anxiety? Or an endocrinologist to see if it might be caused by thyroid or adrenals or hormones etc? Perhaps there is more going on than the recent diagnosis and all the uncertainty that can come with it? Just a thought. The fact that you are bringing up mostly clear mucus is a good thing. It may be more from anxiety that you feel sick. But of course getting some guidance from NJH should help too. Who knows you may test negative next time and will be told to wait and see. The saline nebulizing could help with that but no need to strain to bring up the mucus. Be sure to drink enough water!
