Tingling/numbness in face, arms and legs. Walk isn't normal
April 27 my right foot wouldn't walk right. One week later started feeling a weird sensation on my tongue. Then my right side of my face started tingling/numbness. Went to er thinking I might be having a stroke. Two CT and MRI came back normal. Days later I Gradually started feeling the tingling/numbness down my right arm. Then on to both sides. The sensation comes and go. My walk comes and goes as well. July 1 I started feeling really different. I was so fatigued. Two weeks out of the month of July I spent the majority time in bed. At one point I was somewhat lethargic. I've been to ER 3 times all test coming back normal. Had another MRI. A sono on my neck. A cortisol test and lots and lots of blood work done. ALL coming back normal. My local neurologist is trying to pinpoint it but not having much luck. I had a very mild case of Covid in November. Could this possibly be long Covid? I started taking black seed oil two weeks ago and do feel better but I'm still having tingling/ numbness that comes and go. Anyone else experiencing these symptoms?

@lynn32, this must be frightening, especially when tests seem to indicate all is normal. A few things come to mind like Bell's palsy and Lyme disease. Have they been ruled out? Did you talk with the neurologist about a possible link to post-COVID infection?
Yes both of those have been ruled out. Neurologist does not think it’s long Covid.
Have them check for superficial siderosis. This is caused by a brain bleed. A primary symptom is ataxia, loss of balance. I have serious trouble walking.
I was just diagnosed with PN on Friday the 7th of April at Mayo Clinic. My legs and face are quite numb. I live in Owatonna, Minnesota. Any suggestions for a good neurologist in my area? Any suggestions of where do I go from here? Thank you in advance.
Pat
Hi Pat, I glad to see that you saw my response in the other discussion where you posted. I also was diagnosed at Rochester Mayo (idiopathic small fiber peripheral neuropathy) but since I only have numbness there was nothing that my neurologist could offer for treatment. That's what brought me on my journey to Connect. I shared my story in another discussion here - https://connect.mayoclinic.org/comment/310341/. You will notice we moved your post to an existing discussion which mentions face and legs numbness here:
--- Tingling/numbness in face, arms and legs. Walk isn't normal: https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/tinglingnumbness-in-face-arms-and-legs-walk-isnt-normal/.
There are a lot of us with numbness only symptoms. There is also another discussion on numbness symptoms here - Neuropathy: Numbness only, no pain: https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/neuropathy-numbness-only-no-pain.
The one suggestion I could make that did help me was to learn as much as you can about your condition and what treatments may be available. Sometimes a specific type of neuropathy may have different treatments that might help.
Did you get a specific diagnosis for your neuropathy?
No. I did however get a follow-up appointment at Mayo Clinic Owatonna, MN with the neurologist who performed my EMG in mid May!
Thank you for the information! I will look into the other sites you suggested. Pat.
Hi
I have read that a low potassium count can cause numbness and tingling so maybe you could have your potassium levels tested and if it's too low your doctor will put you on a supplement which they did for me and I feel great
I wished I could chalk mine up to low potassium but my levels are good.
Mine too, John. Normal K+levels.
