I’ve had 7 BMB without sedation. The first 2 were painful but doable. The last 5 I felt nothing but a little pressure. I believe the nurse practitioner made the difference. I won’t let anyone touch me but her. Also, anxiety can heighten the experience. That being said, don’t be afraid of sedation. Most important is to get it done and know where you stand with your disease.

I must be one of the lucky ones. They say redheads have high tolerance for pain. I experienced none. No general anesthesia. Had aspiration and biopsy the same day. Even the pressure some mention was so inconsequential almost not worth mentioning. Hope you have the same stress-free experience!
