Are you sure you are going into AFIB after about an hour? And, are you taking a beta blocker with your Flecainide along with an anticoagulant?

I take 100 mg of Flecainide twice daily along with 25 mg of Metoprolol Succinate once a day. It is normally recommended to take a beta blocker such as Metoprolol when taking Flecainide to prevent complications such as yours.

If your doctor who prescribed Flecainide didn’t prescribe a beta blocker it would be wise to seek another opinion.

Thank you for your response. No I am not going into A-Fib after about an hour.
The reason I do not take a beta blocker is I have a low resting pulse rate usually in the 50’s sometimes in the 40’s.
this is not due to any condition I was always told I have an athletic heart due to years of working out etc.
So a beta blocker would really slow me further.
Spoke to pharmacist, as well my daughter is a pharmacist and was told beta blocker is not always prescribed with flecainide it all depends. I would guess your resting pulse rate is higher. As well I can be in A-Fib with BPM in the 60’s or 70’s perhaps 80’s. I have even had it in the 50”s
