Hi: How do you deal with imbalance issues from the hearing loss?? Some days I'm better off just staying inside....I was told after my surgery the only hearing device that would help me was the "Cochlear". But even than I must wait until my nerves re-generate where the left side surgery was done...What is the name of that hearing aid???I could maybe benefit for balance issues...
Hi cynaburst: My hydropcephalus was caused by the nueroma pushing my brain stem in. I didnt know about either until I had the MRI...Than it was a scheduled rush for surgery because the Nueroma was closing off my spinal fluid drainage...
The hearing aid is made by Phonak. It doesn't really restore perfect hearing, but since it enhances the sound that enters the right ear, it is much improved.
@katfred Just wanted to tell you that I reading your posts makes me realize I may need to act on a doctor's advice. Though my regular doc and I both are hesitant about rushing into gamma knife treatment (because the radiologist's report), I am understanding why the the neurologist I saw advised gamma knife. He said the small size makes it safer for surrounding tissue. I just don't want to rush into this either as it is radiation. But, it sure puts things into perspective to read about everyone and their challenges with this thing. Thank you and good luck. I hope you experience relief soon. My prayers are with you.
In my case the AN was the cause of the hydrocephalus. Are they sure that is not the case in yours?
