@sen1991 Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. Ow! Having pain in the big toe can be pretty frustrating, right? It may make you not want to get out and walk much, or try to find a pair of shoes that fit comfortably for the moment.

You will see that indeed pain in the big toe can happen with this condition. Are you under any treatment for the PV? What lifestyle changes have you made to work with the PV condition?

I’ve been getting checked since 2007 for it. I started eating grapefruit this winter, I do exercise a lot, so basically pretty healthy, I’m not overweight I do have type 2 diabetes, I’m back to getting phlebotomy’s every 2 months. Dr say’s this is arthritis but I think it’s caused by poly
