Contant Pulsation in ear, Any Remedy?

Posted by mrkhan @mrkhan, Apr 8, 2023

I have been experiencing a pulsating feeling in my ear, it's not there all the time but sometimes it's so loud like like listening for a pulse with a stethoscope, I haven't been diagnosed, but I will like to have an idea of what this actually means..

I have a newly diagnosed vestibular schwanoma. I read about some side-effects following surgeries that didn't go well. Are there any success stories describing post surgery. Thank you!

A friend had those symptoms and was diagnosed with an aneurysm near the ear. A minimally invasive procedure solved the issue before it became more serious. I would start with an ENT and keep looking until someone will do some diagnostics. Good luck.

I was recently diagnosed with a High Riding Jugular Bulb after experiencing the pulsing for over a year. It was missed by several doctors and finally after a second MRI, a doctor saw it. I would start with an ENT Neurotologist and insist on an MRI from a reputable place specifically looking for a High Riding Jugular Bulb. My first MRI was done by just an imaging place and they missed it.

I've had pulsating, but it's not constant or very loud...

Drainage also, watery and yellow - probably pus.

It's painful at times, but comes and goes

It's due to an inner ear infection, diagnosed by the VA just a few days ago.

I'm on antibiotics and ear drops for about a week.

Within several hours of starting the antibiotics the pain went away.

Some serious hearing problems have been related to Covid...

The doctor at the VA mentioned a guy that had constant loud ringing, so severe that it lead to suicide.

Covid had damaged nerves leading to his brain. Scary stuff!

I had been swabbing my ear canal with an iodine solution, which helped reduce the pain at times.

The VA doctor advised against that - it dries the skin.

I'm on antibiotics and ear drops, which seem to be working.
