ITP after Covid Vaccine

Last year after having booster shot, i felt weak, nauseated etc. I had blood tests and found out my platelets are low to the point my GP advised to go to emergency. After sometime, my platelet level would just go up and down.

My concern now is that I am having bruises easily while blood tests and scans are all normal apparently. I have episodes if weeklong headaches and numbness of arms. Right now i feel pain in my spines while still bruises showing up continously. My GP is clueless. What do you think is the best thing to do and what could be the reason for this. Thanks in advanced for any information.

@becsbuddy Thanks for including me in the ITP discussion, I found MayoClinicConnect very helpful, knowing there are a lot of people having the same problem or situation as mine, I’m looking forward to see more information about my condition i hope someone here will give me some more information, Thanks!

I am suffering from ITP for last 3 years. I also have Lupus. Took lots of steroids for ITP which helped me for sometime then back again to ITP. Ver low number. I took Rituximab , total of 8 infusion in one year. 4 infusion lasted me about 8 months then my platelet dropped to 10. Again took 4 infusion of Rituximab, It is been 4 months since. Holding my number around 160. Let’s see how long it goes. My oncologist suggested splenectomy. I am not interested in surgery at this point. I will try Rituximab again if my ITP comes back. I am 66 years old female. I also take papaya leaf tea from amazon. Hope it helps someone with ITP.

@chowdhury6 hello! Sad to know that you are still suffering from ITP, may I know what are the symptoms of Lupus? And how did you find out that you have that?Thanks! And get well

Hi. Lots of fatigueness, some joint pain. Sun and light sensitivity. I always wear dark glasses even inside home. I live in Boulder county. Colorado. It is very bright here. Also. Raynaud. Feet and cold hand. It is all about lots of management. I am also on hydroxychloroquin for last 9 years. Since my diagnosis. Stay well. Selina

I had shingles vaccine which lowered my platelets. But I've had 5 covid shots and none lowered my platelets
