Tolerating lung biopsy and treatment: Any words of encouragement?
Just today, in an incidental CT scan, a 13mm spiculated nodule was found in my lung. I’m dreading both the biopsy and treatment and am actually leaving for a week or so in Spain before returning for the biopsy. Any words of encouragement? Thank you.

My husband was diagnosed with Stage 4a lung cancer in both lungs in September 2022. He has responded to his treatment without too much discomfort. Awaiting results of latest cat scan to determine if protocol has had any positive impact. Prayers are with you and your husband.
We are also awaiting results interpretation due to an on-going inflammation of which he has been treated with steroids. The inflammation has obscured the last cat scan and now we are waiting for his pulmonologist to determine if his protocol has helped with his cancer. Prayers are sent back to you both as well.
Hi @millie5737, how are you and your husband doing? Did you have a meeting with the oncologist?
My story is very similar to yours. My nodule (12mm) was found by an incidental scan too. I have had CT scans every 3 months, a PET scan and finally a biopsy. None of them have shown anything. In fact, the one before last showed that whatever it is had grown and the one after that showed that it had shrunk. Doctor has now moved me to scans every 6 months. Biopsy does not hurt. I will be thinking of you. Best of luck.
After 7 weeks of no chemo/immunotherapy treatment (a second bronchoscopy) it is still unclear as to CT scan. Pulmonologist says likelihood not an infection. Treatment will start up again on Tuesday April 11. Meanwhile, oxygen assessment scheduled as he is having great difficulty with being winded after very little exertion. Sleep a lot. 10 hours a night and a 3 hour nap in the afternoon.
Thank you Cynde for the encouragement. It is so very kind of you. Today feels like it is going to be a more positive day because of you. Take good care of yourself!
