I have been on Repatha for about 2 years because I was unable to tolerate statins. My cholesterol numbers have consistently been very healthy. Heartily recommend!
I took Repatha for a time. It did not work and it eventually made me feel horrible. My doctors may say something different and are working with me to sort through what is uniquely going on with me. We are all different, right? I am not sure where you are finding such horror stories when you Google. I have FH and and am members of reputable Facebook discussion groups where cholesterol reducing treatments are regularly discussed, and I can tell you it is working super well for lots of folks. Two others in my family take it successfully. I would say you have every every reason to be optimistic about the opportunity to take Repatha. Just make sure to have a conversation with your doctor that prescribed it if you feel like any weirdness crops up.
Hi @cautiousoptimism, I moved your question about Repatha (evoculomab) to this existing discussion:

I did this so that you can read previous posts, in addition to the helpful replies you've received from @daniel777 @artistanne @jlharsh. You'll also be able to connect with members like @sue225 @downhillbob @bigchevy @robschweiger @cindyt63 @michelle1000 @lippylolo and others.
Cautiousoptimism, have you started taking Repatha?
My wife started using Repatha about 2 months and works exceedingly well with no side effects. Cost can be lowered by shopping around. CVS shipped to home was the cheapest for her vs her “family run” local pharmacy. LDL went from 164 to 66! Other parameters greatly reduced too.
