I have terrible insomnia. I’ve tried Benadryl, melatonin, acupuncture, and magnesium supplements. Nothing seems to work for me. I’m lucky if I get 2 hours a night of sleep. Has anyone tried something and it worked? Please let me know. Thanks
I have tried all the above including being on lorazepam of which I’m now slowly weaning off. Currently taking mirtazapine which was recommended by a CBT-I sleep therapist and it’s working wonders for me
I developed insomnia after taking a steroid (budnesonide) for two and a half weeks. I immediately could not sleep, lost 13 lbs, etc. So I had to go off without weaning. I am taking trazodone to sleep and getting no rem and only 3 to 4 hrs of deep sleep. Unfortunately I will now have to wean off that as it is an antidepressant. Then I have to find a sleep aid. My cortisol level is still high. Any help would be appreciated.
Quetiapine is working really well for me right now. I had severe, at times unbearable leg and foot pain every night for years. I kept going in trying to find out why, Drs couldn't find a reason. Trazodone stopped helping me sleep after years of taking it. After switching to something else I noticed I wasn't having the pain. I ran out of my new sleep med so took one of the Trazodone I had left. I was up all night, the horrible leg pain was back in full force. So turns out after years of this pain it was Trazodone that was for some reason causing it.
I need to know how to wean off trazodone. Taking 50 mg for 6 months. Not sure if I have to have it compounded or just do it in quarters ? Also for how many weeks? Jackie

I took 200 mg of Trazodone for sleep for less than 6 months and weaned off by lowering the dose by 25-50 mg for two weeks at a time. But my sleep issues started again so now I'm taking 50-75/mg a night for sleep. Call your pharmacist, mine gave me advise on how to taper off. He said the longer you are on it, the longer it takes to taper off and 6 months was considered a fairly short time. There are several websites with helpful advice, if you search.
The only thing that I has been really affective for me is going to bed same time every night, only low volume Anything, lights very dim. When I’m finally ready for sleep, I tell myself even if I just rest my body, close my eyes with the expectation of only resting. Before I know it, I’m out!
I use the brand ‘Now’ lavender scent air diffuser (Amazon) and I swear that helps

Anyone here have sleep apnea as cause? I fall asleep fast but am up at 2-3am for varying periods of time. Tired during the day sometimes. Sometimes not. Told to have strict times to go to bed and get up but hard to do. Really getting worn down.

Steroids can be activating, so can disrupt the ability to sleep.
