Does Anyone Have A Constant Buzzing Sound In Your Ears?
My wife wanted me to ask the group if anyone has or ever had a constant buzzing sound in your ears? She is 71 and has worn hearing aids for several years. However, the buzzing sound was there long before she started wearing hearing aids. Has anyone ever experienced this sound and if so, any suggestions on how to get rid of it? Thank you for any help that you can offer her...Bill

...personally I feel you are not missing out with the musical ear.... it's just an added sound I don't wish for... as I type this its ....Starr of Wonder, Start of Light but also hear the whoosh of the hot air furnace from basement to my bedroom and sound of my fingers on keyboard! Thing is it's not even the whole song or musical passage but repetitive - over and over again the first line or two. Apparently its not the same thing as the music of a song we like and just can't get out of our head, i think they call it ear worm or music worm, not the same. As someone else said the music I hear is from decades ago too! Yes consensus is we have to live with it unless caused temporarily by certain medications etc.
OMG! That’s wnought to drive a person to drink.
I don’t know where you live, but I would search out to nearest Mayo Clinic and set up an appointment. You have nothing to loose.
Good luck

I focus on it to sleep and meditate.
I got ototoxicity from my chemo which resulted in the horrible tinnitus of one year for many years and now is slowly creeping into the other. Having a hearing test is needed to diagnose this as they check the pressure in each ear as well as your hearing to monitor at each visit for any further hearing loss. I found by using the back group noise in a hearing aid does mask out the ringing enough to give me piece of mind for awhile. I would highly suggest anyone who is suffering this to try this. Tinnitus is enough to drive anyone up a wall at times. Best of luck

Willie, what your wife is experiencing with the constant buzzer in her ears is something I have lived with for years, along with other loud noises like rumbling, thumping, shrieking. In my case it is caused by a condition called tinnitus. This may be what your wife has. Unfortunately there is no cure. You learn coping mechanisms. Does she have Bluetooth on her hearing aids. If so she can hear music or other sounds through her hearing aids.
I have loud high pitched some days not as loud as others thankful for them. Hearing aids help mask it with ‘brown noise’ the one that helps me. If it’s a very loud day nothing really helps. Not sure how much they help me hear.
I have to take a tiny tiny dose to have that work.
