Before. I regularly went to the urologist every 6 months for PSA bloodwork since there is so much history of cancer on both sides of my family. My PSA hovered around 5-6 more or less for years. Then in December 2020 it came up at 42. Two weeks later it was 72. So, it was certain something bad was up. January 2021 my doc did biopsies or my prostate and 12 of 14 samples were cancerous. I suspected metastases were likely and after a scan in February 2021, that suspicion was confirmed with mets detected in my bone in five places: my pubic bone, left clavicle, a thoracic vertebra, left pelvic bone and a rib on the right side. The cancer was very aggressive and stage 4. Six rounds of chemo (March-July '21) , ongoing 3- month Eligard injections, ongoing Abiraterone acetate (Since March 2022) and Provenge therapy(January-February 2023) happening in the order just described. No surgery. I am without pain. Lots of continuing fatigue due to almost undetectable testosterone levels. Long answer....sorry!
I'm taking the same meds. My 6 chemo treatments ended in October
It sounds like we are in the same boat
I found out Mt PSA number in Dec of 2021:all Treatments started in January of 2022

I never heard of Zometa. I was on Xgeva injections for my bones. It used necrosis of my jaw. Lovely experience! It is healed but not on a med for bones now.

I meant it caused necrosis of my jaw. Basically a hole opened up in the bottom of my mouth exposing necrotic bone tissue in my lower jawbone. The dead bone eventually broke off and was removed. (about 2 inches by 1/4 inch sliver.). No further issues with the jaw and it is fully healed, no Xgeva anymore.
Here’s his story ! He broke his ribs 2 years ago ! In Oct of 22 he still had pain ! Went to a dr she did nothing ! She could have found it that day ! Went on a big trip to Texas - florida and back to Mn ! It was so bad at the end he lost 20 lbs pain was so bad ! Got back Nov 30 th took him to emergency they found the mass across his kidney put in the tube with the bag ! Lupron shot ! Cassex ! Lots of scary things 🙏

Hi also how is your bone cancer doing ! My guy is dormant at the moment ! His cancer dr resigned ! 😢going to a new dr today 😊
kjbushur, How are you feeling? Did you have pain prior to being diagnosed? Just curious.
Currently I get a monthly infusion of Zometa, this helps to strengthen bones
There hasn't been any further movement of cancer in the bones
Good luck with the new doctor. I hope he/she is a good fit for you guys.
