Anyone on Pluvicto (Lu 177), a new drug for prostate cancer?
My close friend has had Pluvecto treatment suggested to him by oncologists. It is relatively new, having been approved by the FDA in March 2022. Have any of you been given this drug? I have read it is radioactive material and patient needs to stay away 6 ft from others for at least 3 days so as not to contaminate them. He has not yet decided whether to take the treatment or not as he is feeling awful enough as is.

When I first got diagnosed I was 52. I went in for the prosectomy and was off for maybe 6 weeks. I went back to work and received radiation treatments while I was working. That was part one. After the radiation treatments were done My Urologist told me that I should go on disability because he was sending me to the oncologist, and I was going to have a tough road ahead. I was to have chemotherapy because the scans showed I had bone metastases on my neck and spine. I immediately filed for disability with the the help of my doctors and it was approved the first time. I filled out the papers myself. I did read that Stage 4 Prostate cancer is approved for disability.
Thank u!!!
@dlylecpa, how is your husband doing? Has Pluvicto helped to relieve his pain?
My husband is having good days and bad days. He ended up in the hospital for a low sodium episode. We think it was because he was drinking so much water it diluted his sodium count. He was really sick but got better quickly. Lesson to be learned drink some electrolytes. He is still having a good bit of pain but is managing. This is the 3rd week after the first treatment. Hopefully it gets better from here, at least until treatment #2.
My husband had his first pluvicto treatment 3 weeks ago. He has been in severe pain and severe headaches. Have you not had any pain, Particularly in spots where there is cancer lesions? Are you taking pain medication or prednisone now?
How are you doing with your Pluvicto treatment? My husband just started his 3 weeks ago. He has had pretty severe side effects and pain. Do you have a lot of pain in the spots where you have bone lessions? Have you had any scans since taking your treatments? any improvements? Are you finished with treatments?
How did your pluvicto treatments go? Can you describe side effects? Any scans since that time? My husband has just started treatment. He is not doing great with the side effects. Fatigue, Nausea, and Pain.
Where is he getting treatments Pluvicto is almost impossible to get. How many treatments do the drs believe he should get?
My husband gets them in Arkansas. He has been on a list for about 9 months. He's supposed to get 6 treaments.
I received my 1st Pluvicto Treatment on March 17. The only side effects I had, was a dry mouth the first week. That is mostly light now. I was pretty normal the first week with minimal side effects. This week I am very weak, sore and stiff. My jaw was aching, but I believe it was my sinuses, which Ohio is famous for. Could be from the Pluvicto, but it's not setting me back that much. I have a strong appetite and I'm feeling better as of today. My biggest complaint is fatigue.
