Diagnosed with CLL and ITP together! What can I expect?
I was a an active 60 year old man, when routine blood work showed low platelets.... from there, bone marrow biopsy, scans... DVT both legs, treating with Eliquis 5mg x2 daily. The only symptoms I currently have is fatigue, and pain in the clot area in both legs. My blood pressure which has always been normal; has elevated slightly. I know it is a small percentage of us with both CLL and ITP, does anyone care to share their experience with having both? Just looking for some insight beyond what traditional research will tell me. Thank You!

It is sad that you’re not getting the support after serving your country. My brother was in the army as well, in the early 60s and was out on a training exercise in Washington State. He and his unit were doused with agent orange in the rain forest there. He was in the hosptial for 2 weeks, then honorably discharged because he was no longer healthy enough to serve…he passed away a few short years later from cancer caused by the agent orange…with denial of any assistance to him during his cancer treatments. It’s only recently that the military has admitted that AO is directly associated with so may illness of former soldiers. So I can feel your frustration over this.
But, on the positive note, you don’t have any symptoms and so much more is know about ITP. You may not have any more occurances of the disorder, but it’s very tragic about the mental illness side effects that seem to correlate with your earlier treatments.
I'm sorry for you and your families loss. My biological father was in Vietnam in the early stages of that war. 1965 he came back got my mother pregnant with me and went back to the war and came home a different man I guess. She left him.
I have been told by a veteran several years ago and I told him everything I went through. The Army told me that some of my records were lost in a fire in a warehouse that stored records. I thought to myself, what is that like the only copy? Well I read between the lines and left it alone. This veteran said no way is that side effects from medication. See we were in the process of getting ready for desert Storm. I was with Air defense artillery in the hawk missiles in our company was notified about desert Storm and getting prepared before this is when I started having these very very troubling experiences that no one could understand . This veteran he thinks that I possibly could have been on a random list where they may be tested something on me because they have done that in the past with wars with Vietnam world war II and world war I he thinks maybe some chemicals had been introduced to my body and that was the reaction I was getting. Which is fine with me if they would just tell me I'm not going to pursue anything I would just like to know is this from the disease or is this something else I know this is went in many directions but there's so much to this case of mine or this event that is unexplainable and I've been told some very bizarre things through the years. When you mentioned your brother it almost I don't know it it hit me like right upside the head because I was thinking that before you sent that message I was thinking about should I even open up about this kind of stuff because it makes me seem like I'm conspiracy guy and I'm not that at all. I'm not into assumptions I'm into the truth.
