I have the Boston Scientific Spinal Cord Implant and on 3/14/23 I’m at my one year anniversary for the implant. It is a huge blessing! I have CRPS in both legs/feet. I’m back to living my life again at 71 years old with very little pain. I can walk on my own with out the aid of a crutch or cane. Currently working on losing the weight that I put on with the disease and the COVID lockdown. Go to the Y three times a week and do water aerobics. Walking is also part of my daily life. Can now hike again. I followed the instructions to a T with the implant. Did have a hiccup with the company representative but have since found a fabulous gal that probably adjusted everything. The home office is excellent. They will answer any question I have and they make sure I am comfortable before ending my call. Recharging my back takes about two to three hours every 14 days or so. If I have discomfort I can adjust my remote and within 30 minutes I can adjust it back to where I started. Erin is my representative in Hickory, NC and she is extremely knowledgeable. Prompt on returning my call.

I investigated five implant procedures and Boston Scientific fit my need the best.

I have new Abbott nerve root stimulator put in 10 days ago. No significant relief yet but I'm increasing power very slowly as directed. Trial back in early November gave me significant relief.

I'm sorry to hear that you haven't had relief yet. I hope that your experience is not like mine. I, too, had an Abbott stimulator implanted to address nerve pain I have due to arachnoiditis. It's been almost 2 years now and I have had no significant relief (if any).
So, now I have this device implanted in me that doesn't function as was promised and can no longer have regular MRIs.
I advise anyone contemplating having a spinal cord stimulator to seriously consider before proceeding. Check the results of studies, clinical trials, and patient statements.
Also, ask questions about the level of support you will get from Abbott or any other provider.
I was virtually left on my own to "play around" (Abbott reps words) to determine which setting helped.
The entire process was more than disappointing.

Dont use Nevro. The permanent device doesnt work and the staff to handle you afterwards are liars and horrible. They shouldnt be in the medical field. Nevro should be investigated.

It's to late. I'm in a lot of pain. Nothing else has really helped I'm scheduled for the five day trial on March 13th. I will see how it goes and I will keep you all informed.

You're a lucky guy! Wish I could say I had any level of success at all with the Abbott device.

Tank you for the information regarding the Spinal Card Stimulation. My only question has to do with the numbness pain, tingling and pins and needles pain sensation in both legs, feet fro the waist on down. Does this stimulation help with those pains?
Thanks in advance for your reply.

I just finished my trial of a spinal stimulator for small fiber neuropathy. I figured out that if I started having nerve pain it was relieved by switching the program to a program that provided vibration for about 10 minutes. It usually eliminated the pain. Hope this helps!
