I wished I could have some type of rehabilitation, I'm sure it make me stronger and I also like being pushed. But at the end of the day I just have a pain pump and medication for severe back through pain.
Hi, I’m Finny4606 and I was diagnosed with CRPS by my pain management dr about 2-1/2 years ago, only I only have 1 symptom, then my second doctor said I was misdiagnosed. He sent me to a spine specialist who wants operate on my cervical and lumbar spine. I would really like to get a definitive diagnosis. I’m waiting to hear if Mayo will accept me.
Hi Rachel thx for your input much appreciated yes I've tried doing some exercises but the next day I can't move I suffer longer & harder afterwards actually my spine is what they call a 90yr olds spine I also suffer from palette alta (something like that) some days it takes all I've got to go to the bathroom I truly feel like I'm 40yrs past my real age....sad hurting & depressingly hopeless....
Good luck on being accepted to Mayo #finny4606. I hope you are, and can find clarity on a definitive diagnosis. I know how frustrating and difficult it can be. No one wants spine surgery unless necessary and helpful. The helpful part seems to be a crap shoot in some cases. Sometimes it comes down to chronic pain management and no more medical interventions. I hope you get to the bottom of it.
How did you end up with CRPS - per your first doctor, that is? Did you have a prior surgery that activated it?
Julie, don't give up. Small steady changes can be impactful. Have you worked with a physical therapist to set up a graded exposure, moderate exercise routine? How about gentle morning stretches? Perhaps you havent been taught the proper way to treat your body with ease and grace while accomplishing exercise. What has your spine doctor cleared you to do?
If you don't use it you lose it, whether 59 or 90. But you my friend are way to young still and must have more in the tank. Please stay positive because I bet you are so much more than just your spine issues and have more to contribute in this beautiful world. How have you been handling your mindset? Do you speak with a psychologist to work through emotional and behavioral obstacles?
finney, it might just be me but I’d be cautious when a MD wants 2 spinal operations without first finding out the “ root” cause. Please get a 2nd or 3rd opinion before you let them start cutting….David
Three years ago I’ve had a TKR and then a TKR revision 16 months later, and I’ve been having constant horrible pain in my legs ever since. I’d love to find a doctor very knowledgeable about CPRS. The only symptoms I have is pain every waking minute every day.
Thanks David, you are certainly right. I hope I can get a definitive diagnosis soon.
Thank you, that means a lot.
What type of doctor will you be seeing at your Mayo Clinic appointment?
