Diagnosis of low grade lymphoma leukemia
After Covid booster my lymph nodes awoke under armpit and remained swollen. Second ultrasound showed lymph node getting larger. Doctor sent me for biopsy and result was low grade lymphoma leukemia. Does anyone have experience with this? I will be referred to oncology. I have read that this is often misdiagnosed but I did get wbc differential and wbc was high and hemocrit slightly lower. I am frightened as I did not expect this outcome.

@elainejarrett i dont have an oncologist ; did you ever have a hematologist ; i have enlarged lymph nodes in both axillas; i will get blood results next friday; did you have a biopsy and discover all this?
I did have a bone marrow biopsy and aspiration which confirmed what was going on with me. Initially, low platelets, enlarged spleen but then came low IGG and hemoglobulin so then that prompted the hematologist/oncologist to do the biopsy. Good luck with everything and keep in touch. Hope blood results give doctor more information for you.
Hello Faith. I hope you are doing well. I was recently advised to do the watchful waiting approach and am wondering if this is what was suggested for you. It has not yet been determined exactly what type of low grade NHL I have but got the diagnosis in September.
Watchful waiting approach is commonly recommended for some types of non-Hodgkin's lymphomas. It can be unsettling. I prefer to use the term active surveillance since that sounds proactive, rather than simply waiting. Regardless of the term used, your team is monitoring your closely with this treatment approachment.
@slr2, have you learned more about your type of NHL in the meantime? How are you doing?
