There are other issues with the supplement, strontium (therapeutic dose is 680mg daily). It distorts DEXA results, making bones look denser, because strontium replaces calcium in the bones and is heavier.

In Europe, strontium ranelate, which is a prescription drug, was taken off the market for a bit due to cardiovascular concerns but is available to those who cannot take other drugs and don't have risk factors. You can research this. I do not know and I don't know if anyone knows whether risk was from the ranelate added or from the strontium.

Finally, if your bone density loss is signficant, strontium may not work fast. Ask your provider!
