Even once a day was too much for me. It took me about a year to suspect the AREDS because, at first, the symptoms were only once 6-8 weeks, then once every two weeks, then a couple of times a week. By then I was sure I had some terrible disease. By then, I was only taking the AREDS in the morning with breakfast. Swallowing pills is very difficult for me and I just couldn't make myself take it at night. I felt nauseous at just the thought of it even though I didn't know it was that pill that was making me sick. A pattern started to emerge. I would wake up feeling fine, take my AREDS with breakfast, then about an hour or so after that, I'd have a sudden onset of terrible stomach pain and terrible diarrhea that could last just a couple of hours, or 24 hours. I took my last AREDS on December 18, 2022 and haven't had an episode since.

Opera buff I got a second opinion from an FD specialist and I did not even have AMD‼️So I stopped mine 100%. Gratefully, Marianne
