Bladder UTI's

I was prescribed estrogen cream 5 years ago and like you, decided not to use it because of side effects. Now 5 years later I was told again by a new urogynocologist to use it as a way to help stop all the UTI's. I also have had two surgeries to raise a prolapsed bladder, both unsuccessful.
I have been using the cream for a month and have had no side effects. In the same amount of time I have not had a UTI. I had a pessary inserted and it has help with severe bladder pain and I guess, UTI's. So between the cream and the pessary I have finally found relief from chronic UTI's and severe bladder pain. I would definitely go back and tell the 65 year old self to use the estrogen cream, don't wait till you're 70.

Thank you, thank you for your kind and informative response. I am so relieved to hear you are doing well.
I have an appointment with a nephrologist in 2 weeks to check my kidneys because I had crystals in the urine which could be a breakdown of a kidney stone and this was the first UTI in the last 3 years. So I filled the prescription for the estriadol and I will go to the kidney doctor first and then Iwill give it a few months to see if another UTI occurs and maybe instead of 2 treatments a week just do 1. See how it goes. If you don't mind me asking. How many applications of the estriadol do you apply each week?
Have you experienced any breast pain or elevated blood pressure and/or weight gain? I just lost 10 pounds. Don't want to gain it back.
Thank you again for responding to my post.
Take care.
