@lorin200 Research is being done on this subject and only 1 case has been found. I included a link to an article published by the National Institutes of Health: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35799871/
Are you concerned about the possibility of reinfection of EB?

From an article I read Epstein Barr virus mimics a lot of autoimmune diseases, so you can be diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and it could be wrong. It could be Epstein Barr reactivating again. Also, EBV can live in your system forever and reactivate under certain situations, so my question is? Should anyone having symptoms of certain diseases should they get the EBV test done? If so, does your primary doctor do the test and send it off to the lab since it's a blood test?

@dablues Yes, you doctor would do the blood test and send it to a lab that does those tests. Have you asked your doctor if she thinks the test would give you the information you are looking for?
Did you get the latest Shingrix? I did and it messed me up and I'm still messed up with my legs, burning, etc. Also EBV Epstein Barr Virus can MIMIC many diseases, so if you are told you have a certain disease that might not be the case. That is what I have learned but how true it is, don't know!
No I haven't but I can't get to the bottom of what is happening to my legs, feet, burning and that all started after Shingrix Shot, which also can be EBV. I have appointments with a orthopedic dr., a neurologist again, a allergist, and also had vascular testing done, so if nothing pans out I'll be asking for the EBV test.

Shot was a few years ago. It is the latest I believe. EB is a bummer. I was sick for many years with it. Everything was wrong. Terrible time in my life. I was in my late 40s until 50s. Bare with it. It gets better. It is autoimmune but didn’t know it. I have several of those now. (For another day)

Nothing. But I did get 1 shingles shot and woke up with sciatica. That was a nightmare.

How did you get rid of EB
By itself. It just petered out.
When I had ebv there was no test. Anything is possible with autoimmune diseases.
