Anyone have insomnia as symptom of COVID-19?
Hi all,
So I got sick 8 weeks ago and the doctor thinks it might have been Covid-19. There was no way to be certain as the infection was already gone when I visited the clinic last week. They did a CRP test and it showed no sign of infection.
I started with a fever that lasted 3 days and suddenly on the 4th or 5th day I had a sleepless night. Then for the next 5 days I had alternating nights where I slept and where I couldn't sleep at all. For the last 8 weeks or so my sleeping has been absolutely terrible.
The doctor tells me she has seen other Covid-19 patients and some of they say they cannot sleep.
Just wondering is anyone experiencing insomnia as a direct symptom of Covid-19? Or does it always come down to anxiety and your fight/flight response? For me there is a lot of anxiety which is contributing to the problem.
Many thanks

I've had a ongoing issues with insomnia since covid over 2 years ago. I've always woke up at 3:00 but went back to sleep now wake up at 1:30 to 3:00 and can't get back to sleep. Some nights I use Tylenol PM which helps and I get a Little Help from melatonin but not much
I have Covid now and I believe mine is from the Paxlovin since I feel energy since I’ve started taking it. I normally have problems because of Hashimoto’s, but this is worse.
Absolutely but I figured it was the heavy steroids.
I finally gave in because sleep was so illusive
My dr prescribed
Trazadone
I finally am able to sleep 😴
!!!
I was having trouble going to sleep and then back to sleep after awakening. My Dr prescribed Trazodone, which made me drowsy enough to fall asleep. When I'd wake up at 1:30 AM or so, I'd take another 25-50 mg. Now with melatonin, I'm able to fall asleep. When I awaken 1-2 hours later, I take 75mg Trazodone to help me fall back asleep. I'm trying to slowly taper off to see if I can sleep without the med.
