My clips were put in during my tumor biopsy; they were removed when I had surgery. My health care network has My Chart. It is an online site that contains every lab test, radiologists’ reports, pathology info and basically contains every aspect of my medical care. The radiologist report of my tumor biopsy contained all the information on the clip (placement, type, etc). My understanding is that the clips aided the surgeon and a dye was inserted before the surgery to locate my sentinel lymph node.

Mine situation sounds the same. I had all medical work, from initial mammo through lumpectomy and post-surgical follow-up, at Cleveland Clinic and all clips were removed during the lumpectomy.
