Stage1vsurvivor, incredibly inspiring story. I have a similar story. Three months after having a successful Whipple procedure, cancer was discovered in my liver. I've just completed my 8th treatment of FFX and tumors are shrinking. You have inspired me to stay the course and keep fighting and talk to my oncologist about a similar path. Thank you and wish you all the best.
WOW congratulations on the 11 years of survival of having had stage IV PC.
I was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis April 2024 and chronic pancreatitis June2024, Stage IB Pancreatic Cancer (adenocarcinoma). Received Folfirinox 4 cycles and surgeon determined the tumor shrunk and I was a candidate for whipple surgery. He suggested I do 2 more cycles of folfirinox since it seems to be effective. I had Nanoknife ablation with Whipple Surgery on 10/29/2024, and the surgeon found a tiny lesion during the surgery, (hence now I've been restaged to IV) and removed it along with other planned organs (unexpected removal was part of stomach). 3/8 lymph nodes were affected, margins were clear. I was discharged on day4 and doing pretty well from the surgery, no complications, eating regular food, more frequent toilet visits than I am used to. I have started adjuvant chemo, post whipple on week 3, this time receiving Gemzar and Abraxane to power wash all the micrometasis. For how long? The Oncologist do not know for how long yet so it's mostly, get the treatment and monitor via Altera/Signatera/CA19-9/CT scan. I asked about immunotherapy, but based on the immunotherapy markers, the tumor mutational burden is 2.1 m/MB (18th percentile). This is from the pre-whipple tumor samples so I have asked the Oncologist to send out the tumor samples collected at the time of whipple surgery. I need to ask the Oncologist again but seems less proactive about this request and that Oncologist basically said, immunotherapy is not going to work. I am doing more research for more options while I am receiving chemotherapy. We just need more options!! I am in my early 40s with small children, I need to live!!!!!
Hi
That is one amazing story ! Your tenacity and courage to have that will to survive in the wake of that kind of diagnosis .
For me I relied on Gods promises and lamenting over His love for us. Because of the Lords great love for us we are not consumed ,for His compassions never fail.
They are new every morning ;
Great is his faithfulness.
I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him. Amen

Your story is amazing. My husband had the whipple in February 2024 and in June of this year he was told his cancer was back. It is in the pancreatic bed and spread to the liver. They have started him on the appropriate chemo treatment. I now wish they would have continued with chemo treatments after his surgery. Hoping we have some positive outcome.
