You're asking specifically if there is any data about taking the flu shot and having long COVID. I haven't see any guidance specifically about this. Hopefully someone else has. I could submit this as a question to a future podcast with Dr. Poland.
Have you had the COVID vaccine? Any issues? Did you ask your doctor about the pros and cons or getting the flu shot? What long-haul symptoms do you have?

Yes I have had two shots ending in February. I got COVID this last October. I am still really suffering with fatigue, brain fog when tired and shortness of breath.
Sadly, I lost my PCP in September and had a hard time
Getting a new one. I go in next week. Hopefully he will know.

I have had the vaccine and I had some taste before the vaccine .Nothing taste as it should and my smell hasn’t came back fully. I still smell rotting meat. I had covid Dec 2020. Example strawberries and grapes taste the same. It’s just a sweet taste. After getting my covid vaccine I lost all taste again. That was 9/2022 I did talk to my Dr about it and all I get is I haven’t heard of this before.
I am reading that I’m not the only that this has happened to. So how does our medical care providers never hearing this.
I just started a new job and they mandate all vaccines flu and covid. I am Just trying to find out if any long haulers had to get flu vaccine and were there any side effects.
My cardiologist told me not to get either flu or covid vaccines. I got covid 7/2022; lost taste and smell, which has not returned. I was fully vaccinated for covid prior to getting Jong covid. Had flu shots for last 52 years. Developed heart problems (covid related) and had stroke 10/2022.

Hi,
I would also be interested in getting a response to this question. I have been diagnosed with long covid, still suffering mild symptoms after having COVID in Jun 22. I am finally started to improve. I’m eligible to get both a flu and covid vaccine (would be a third booster) but am wondering if this will just be an additional stress on my immune system.

I've had long covid since last June. I got the flu shot and the covid booster last Fall and didn't experience any change in symptoms or adverse reactions.
Welcome @jd44204. Mayo Clinic recommends getting the flu vaccine because the flu and COVID-19 may be circulating at the same time and cause similar symptoms. Read more https://www.mayoclinic.org/coronavirus-covid-19/flu-season-during-coronavirus
Mayo also recommends getting the COVID vaccine even if you've had COVID-19 https://www.mayoclinic.org/coronavirus-covid-19/vaccine-if-already-had-covid

Medicine is not one size fits all. What works for one person may not work for another.
