best position for Arthritis in foot.

Greetings;
.
I've recently been discovered to have arthritis in my right foot. MY 'follow up' says to keep it elevated. But I am wondering about the attitude of the foot to the bottom of the leg.
.
Generally, due to the slant of my chair, feet flat has it some what extended. Ought I be using a cushion such that when not elevated, the foot can at least be slight propped so as to come closer to 90 degrees to the leg, which would be, I imagine, a 'neutral' state, neither extended nor contracted.
.
I am fresh out of 8 months of PT for sever sciatica and getting to ambulating again. and now this has me sidelined. I still get twinges, but I spent two days feeling like a railroad spike was driven into my foot. I've another post on that.
.
And i HAVE mentioned the neuroma that was brought to my attention to my GP's assistant.

Oh, and I DO Have a tendency to draw my toes up as I use my CatBookPro on lap creating an acute angle. Ought I be avoiding that?
