I highly recommend Topricin Pain Relief with Arnica +10. It is an amazing topical……reduces pain and aching by at least 50% or more. I have EDS and multiple surgeries……this helps w residual pain and my sister has arthritis badly and says it’s the only thing that makes a true difference. ! I’d try it!
Dealing with arthritis pain, and trying to limit the amount of oral meds needed, is truly a balancing act. Just remember that topical medications do affect other parts of the body as they are absorbed through the skin.
The only caution I can offer regarding Torpicin, and ANY homeopathic herbal medication is to FOLLOW THE DOSAGE INSTRUCTIONS and proceed carefully until you understand how your body reacts. Homeopathic does not mean harmless.
Topricin contains Belladonna, which in excess quantities is toxic. Other ingredients are: Aesculus Hippocastanum 6X; Arnica Montana 6X; Belladonna 6X; Crotalus Horridus 8X; Echinacea 6X; Graphites 6X; Heloderma 8X; Lachesis Mutus 8X; Naja Tripudians 8X; Rhus Toxicodendron 6X; Ruta Graveolens 6X. Other homeopathics may also contain belladonna, or other potentially dangerous substances.
Finally, homeopathics are not subjected to rigorous scientific testing and may contain substances to which sensitive people may have adverse reactions. For example, if an ointment contains echinacea or aloe vera, I will have an allergic reaction to it. So this product would be bad for me. Other ingredients may interact with meds you already use, so do your homework.
All that said, I find I can use topical products containing Voltaren (naproxyn sodium) for joint and back pain, but only 2-3 times per day.
I have 2 full tears in my right rotator cuff with tear in my right bicep. I also have partial tear in my left shoulder. I’ve tried all physio and exercises but have been told I need an operation. I’m in so much pain and most days can’t lift my arms very high from pain. I was told that rehabilitation time is up to a year after operation. I’m 67 soon and unsure what other options are out there. I also have fibromyalgia, trigenimal neuralgia, chronic back, neck, hip, thigh, knee pain, TMJ, hyperthyroidism with many nodules, IBS, high prolactin, headaches, chronic fatigue, adrenal fatigue, lower leg pain, osteoarthritis and sacroiliac joint pain. This all happened from 2002 when I contracted Epstein Barr virus. Also a few old sport injuries. Before that I was healthy and fit. I use medicinal cannabis & duloxetine. I refuse to take other pharmaceutical drugs as I was on them for a few years and the side effects caused many problems. I’m allergic to cortisone, my adrenal glands failed for 9 months when I was injected for hip bursitis. I am under the Pain Management Clinic Sydney Australia. Unfortunately have had no luck controlling my pain. I live with pain 24/7 but cope as best as I can. Help would be incredible.

I have long haul Covid and had Epstein Barr in high school. Also allergic bronchial asthma for a huge part of my life. I was just fine until Covid. Diet really changed the asthma and avoidance of lots of other things. I had to figure it out myself as so many docs just wanted to give me pills and not cure the problem. Try looking at your life as a whole as you have so many problems. Analyze your diet and avoid fads. Non prosssesed foods, polluted water, ect.
Something is attacking. It takes a lot of work, but I am 79, no drugs and am doing great. It has taken years of work, but well worth it. Electro magnetic fields and all do add up. Wish we had a magic wand.
Hello all,
I am a heart transplant recipient, have had both hips replaced (consequence of immune-suppressant drugs which leech cartilage out of joints), and have started to develop pain in my hands particularly in the morning. I also have an occasional muscular pain in my right thigh. I am banned from any n-saids as they can damage my already at-risk kidneys (immune-suppressants, again). Any pain meds, prescription or others wise that you can suggest?

You might try going to a physical therapist who is a DPT who is also a board certified orthopedic clinical specialist who also has dry needling credentials.

I so hope it helps !…..This is such a wonderful site Mayo has set up to pass along information and understanding and compassion!…..
Thank you for posting this. Topricin works and life can be functional. Pills still needed but not as many!
Again, thank you.

Thank you. None used heavily because of possible alternate reaction. Do not like drugs but pain is worse.

Voltarin gel helps. It’s over the counter. Also heat is great
Wobenzym N is widely used in Europe instead of ibuprofen for arthritis pain. OTC too.
