Posted by ac1234 @ac1234, Feb 14, 2023

Hello, my name is Angel I’m 31 year old mother of three young children 5,3, and 5months, I go in for a MRI tomorrow to get a better look at liver lesions that where described as ill defined bulls eyes and to see if there’s any thing else in my abdomen. I had an Ultrasound bc I thought I was having gallbladder issues but my gallbladder kidney and for the most part pancreas all looked good my liver was healthy except of the lesions My blood work came back mostly normal except my LDH levels where high I’m scared for what the MRI is gonna show, I’m having horrible anxiety and I fear how will I be a mother if I’m sick and the effects it will have in my children and I don’t want to die. I need HOPE!! PLEASE some give me hope

Hello Angel. I’m sorry you are having to deal with this. Just about everyone on this website has had to deal with the “fear the unknown”, me included. The first step is to get the MRI. Then have a discussion about the results with your doctor and go from there. TAKE NOTES when you talk to your doctor. Try to remember to breathe and take care of yourself during this process. Keep a journal with your thoughts, fears and especially questions you may have for your doctor. I hope your MRI goes well. Let us know how you are doing if you chose to share your experience. There are some very nice people on this website who will support you.

Oh, honey, I'm so sorry. Here are some sayings that may help you get through this.

"Scared" is what you are feeling. "Brave" is what you are doing.

"Don't borrow trouble."
This was one of my mom's favorites. It means, don't worry until you get the results back. I have used this one myself a lot while waiting for test results. It's easier to say than to do! But it can help keep you focused on what you need to do in daily life, which is a whole lot when you are the mom of 3 small kids. Until the test results come back, there isn't really anything productive that you can do about it, right? So focus on today, in a happy way.

Maybe try this technique to get through the day without too much anxiety. Schedule a time to think about / worry about it. Say to yourself, "I will think about this problem from 7AM to 7:15AM every morning." I suggest that you do NOT schedule this time at night. When worries pop into your head at any other time, tell yourself, "I can't think about that now. I have other stuff to do (include happy stuff as being more important, too). I'll think about it tomorrow morning at 7AM."

I bet that you have walked past a pile of dirty laundry, and you wanted to deal with it at that time, but you had something else more important to do first, like change a diaper, right? Your worry thoughts are like the dirty laundry. You don't need to deal with them at that moment or all day long. You have them on your schedule, and you will deal with them at the scheduled time and not let them take over your day and ruin your day.

Do try this technique. It may not work all of the time, but even if it works some of the time, you'll be taking some of your life back from anxiety.

"The quality of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts."

I recently heard a Christian preacher say that fear is Satan's favorite tool to use to separate us from God. Remember that God loves you, and put your faith and trust in Him.

Hope that some of this helps. I wish you the very best of luck!

Your doctor is following through which is great. He/she knows that more tests will give needed information for an accurate diagnosis. Please remember to take care of yourself while you are going through the upcoming tests. I hope you have help with your children. Post an update when you can. You are in my prayers.

Hello Angel,
I am so glad you have reached out to get some support. It sounds like you have a great family who are willing to help you too. A health issue is a challenge for sure, but there are so many good doctors and so much knowledge and medicines to help us now. I love the advice to schedule your worries. That was so helpful to me too. I find that deep breathing helps me get a grip when I start to worry or can’t sleep. Staying close to friends and family also helps me keep my sanity and my peace. Music is also something that keeps me on track. It sounds like you have good support from your doctor. Too. Wishing you the very best.

When my husband had cancer, my kids were 8, 6, and 2. I remember being so scared. Please hang in there. Allow yourself to still have many moments of happiness along the way. Anything cannot steal ALL of your joy if you don't let it. I'll be praying for you.
