Chalazions! How do you get rid of them?
I've had a few chalazion removal surgeries, only for them to return. It's so frustrating. I don't know why I keep getting them. I keep my lens and lids clean, used warm compresses as often as I can considering I need my eyes to work, and even some home remedies (ACV w/the mothers). I wish I could figure out WHY. Hope someone's working in a research lab somewhere on this. I'm tired of wearing glasses to cover them. I have boxes and boxes of contact lenses I need to wear. Lol! (Not funny)

You are awesome @johnbishop ! Will take a look! Thanks much!
Mine had an ointment from eye dr-made them worse. Bump grew on bump. I got referred to an eye surgeon at a major medical center. He said that chalazion is going to keep on growing. He wanted to take it off right then in his surgery room. He was blunt-if you leave it is going to get bigger and you will need a bigger procedure. He numbed it and removed it. The numbing shot hurt but did its job. He said there were 5 that had merged into one. Eye drops for a few days-it oozed a little but it was and remains gone.
I had a wandering eye that required thick eyeglass lenses. I wore them all my life. I went with my husband to a specialist for his eye problems. The dr said that I had some long name and why didn’t I get it fixed. Every dr I saw said they couldn’t fixit. He had me trade seats with my husband, snipped something, closed with one stitch-no more glasses. I donated them. My husband wasn’t as easy. My biggest regret was not finding him a long time ago.
Thank you @rose999 . They're right about them coming back... haven't had the "cluster" just individuals. Like you said the procedure isn't bad at all my issue is they just keep returning. 🙁
Need your help! Long story short, developed what I was told was a stye Oct '22. Got worse, went for 2nd opinion, told it was chalazion, let it be, should be fine. Got bigger went for 3rd opinion, told to take antibiotics. Got much worse, he did steroid injection which got rid of the stye on lower lash line, BUT a new inflamed bump appeared below it.
That turned into an ugly inflamed abscess with pus. Went through many biopsies (not cancer) just chalazion . Had surgery to lance it and pus came out. That only led to worsen it and had to go for second surgery which took care of the abscess, BUT I'm back to square one in Oct' 21 and Chalazion is back in full force.
If anyone has had any luck in getting rid of a chalazion, PLEASE chime in. This looks so ugly and I can't find any Doctor knowledgeable enough to help. Thank you!!!

Thank you, kindly Coleen. Yes, I previously read the information via Mayo when doing thousands of on-line searches.
I absolutely believe my entire health and body turned into this mess after I got Covid. I never, ever had any problems with my eyes, now I've got Blehpharis along with the very ugly and red chalazion that won't go away.
If I could turn back the clock to where all the problems began and my health deteariated, it was 6 mos after getting a shingles vaccine. Prior to that I was in tip-top health! In my 60's an felt like I was 18 yrs young, very active and feeling fabulous! Then Covid hit and because of my fear of getting another vaccine, and I not feeling well since, I didn't get the vaccine. I believe that was a big mistake. Adding fuel to fire, when I got Covid, my Doc wouldn't help at all or prescribe any medication. . . not antibodies and/or any meds, he said, "YOU'LL BE FINE."
Given I was already not feeling well, down to 89 lbs, I truly believe being untreated with any medications, Covid went rampant in my body making me a Long Hauler. With each and every passing month more and more terrible symptoms appeare. . . like now Blepharis and Chalazion, pain throughout my entire body, racing heart, trembling in the chest, pain in sternum and chest, etc.
If only I could go into a time machine.
Hello, I had a similar issue that started in November
2022. First Ophthalmologist told me it was a chelation but a 2nd Ophthalmologist said it was a cyst and popped it. But has not returned. I also use warm compressions and ocusoft wash scrub and hypoChol used after. I also use moisturizing eye drops. I also have ocular rosacea.
Hi Jack,
I did try the warm compressing treatment via several instruments, via warm/hot water compresses, the eye pad which you plug into your iPad or laptop to stay warm and it only seems to make the chalazion angry and more red and inflammed.
I did purchase the Ocusoft wipes last year, per Ophthalmologist recommendation. He said typically chalazion's are caused by blepharitis so i's very important to keep the lashes clean. I use the Restane eye drops. How many times a day you use it?
You mentioned hypoChol? I looked it up on line and it refers to something totally different and not as a cleanser?
I look forward to your response. Thank you kindly for replying 🙂
