hello @melly2010, Distinctly remember when we (my wife & I ) went to the initial orientation of donor & recipient session - remember an elderly person in upper 70s came for that session with his daughter (donor)
I don't know the outcome but the very fact that he & daughter got invited - my view if you have a donor and are in good condition health wise & it can established that the reciepient can withstand the surgical stress + you are a match.. I personally think it is possible.

My understanding is that 74 years old is not considered too old for a kidney transplant. (Most kidney transplant patients are over 65 years old).
Of course your Dad will need to go through the physical work up (cardiac stress test, blood and urine lab tests, lung xrays, abdominal CT, etc.) as part of the process. Is your father in pretty good health except for the kidney failure? Did your Dad start dialysis?
