Thanks Lori - good points to consider. I never thought of the screening taking place at the time you are trying to make an appointment from the doctors' perspective - makes sense, so I won't get too uptight in the future about this aspect of visiting a doc.

Again, excellent advice and should it come to any of the above, we do have recourse to the ER at the hospital as a last resort. Extremely inconvenient as I'm sure you know but still there if you need it.
