Hello @cherriann. You will see that I have moved your post into an existing discussion which you can find here:
- Macula hole, macula pucker: https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/macula-hole-macula-pucker/

Members such as @babsstruck and @saunaev may be able to come back in to share more with you on their experience. Also, in case it is of interest, here is a video of Dr. Iezzi from Mayo Clinic talking about macula hole repair: https://medprofvideos.mayoclinic.org/videos/macular-hole-repair

Had you heard about this repair being available?

Thank you to those who responded to my post, but I want to make a clarifcation, I "do not" have a macular hole. The condition I was diagnosed with at Mayo Clinic is called a "partial thickness hole in the macula" and doctor said there is no treatment for it. I was interested in hearing from anyone else who might also of been diagnosed with a "partial thickness hole in the macula".

I have a macular hole in my left eye and have inquired with Mayo clinic on Dr Iezzi's unique face up recovery procedure. That video was created in 2014 and I can't seem to be able to find any updated information. In addition, the Jacksonville Mayo office only offers the face down recovery procedure.
So I'm curious to know why his unique surgery with his certainly far less intrusive recovery approach not been adopted by the rest of the industry and even within Mayo's network of clinics? Any idea where I might find more information about this?
