I am two months post and while my appetite is slowly returning I still have days where I am very nauseous. I had a terrible 4 weeks in the beginning when my salivary glands were not working and it made it difficult to swallow due to decreased saliva flow. Now I have insomnia. Is hard to get better with lack of sleep. If anyone has tried something that works please share. Tylenol PM works a bit sometimes - have had no luck with supplements yet and don't want to take prescription meds to sleep. Have never experienced anxiety and insomnia like this. Praying for ongoing healing for all.

I agree not to take prescription sleep meds. More harm to your health. Here is something that helps:

Treadmill, 25 minutes before dinner
Same bedtime.
No tv or computer screens after dinner.
(Hot shower or bath is great, if it fits your routine.
Just before bedtime, camomille tea, 2 bags; 1 cut up kiwi, 1 tablet melatonin -- this helps some, but all of these steps add up to better sleep.
When desparate, I have repeated a cd of soft music all night, low volume.

Everyone agrees that prescription drugs is not a first choice decision for insomnia. However, I found that sleeping only three hours for 3-4 consecutive nights led to depression. My social worker shared that lack of sleep is a primary factor in depression. Not only was it a few hours, it was not the deep, restorative sleep that I need. Sleep determines my quality of life in terms of energy-fatigue as well as daily out-look on life. I have the sleep med next to my bed. I do all the other cognitive behavioral approaches to sleep- if I am having a bad night, I take the drug. Not needed every night but as needed.
