Rick Simpson Oil (RSO) - Does it help for neck and spine pain?

Posted by peggyn @peggyn, May 27, 2022

Has anyone be told they may have
CDDP in their neck and spine? I am in pain 24-7.
The pain Dr. hasn't helped much.
I tried RSO night nurse and it did help some, except it mace me extra sleepy and not able to function. I guess it was a high. I was told by the spine dr. if I take it the pain dr. won't treat me.
I don't know which way to turn. Does anyone here take anything that really helps? Sometimes I can't even set down because of the pain in lower spine and hip.

@nightwarrior

I have severe arthritis and have a malunion in my spine that keeps me from sleeping at night and mainly house ridden because of the pain. I do see a pain Dr but with little help and I literally hate taking prescription medicine
Do you think this RSO would or could help me?
What would the dosage be?

I think you would need to experiment. When you buy it, the budtender should be able to help. Start small. If you goof and take too much, you'll feel like crap but will NOT die.

As you know each states rules are different. In Pa when I first started in 2018 I believe, they did not provide that level of specificity from pharmacists stationed at dispensaries. I don’t know if they do or do not now. It would be a challenge to obtain products in Pa that were based on terpenes in the product. Because it’s still being studied I don’t think the state will get into that level of detail and I know our growers who supply dispensaries will not spend the money do do that unless by law. Being pain free is so much better. Have you seen this piece on the benefits of cannabis for older folks vs. younger.

Yes sir, I have heard that. From my own experience, it makes sense. The vape oil cartridge that I would use in the mornings but only made me more alert, I was much more focused & mentally engaged. Kind of like the feeling one may obtain with pure nicotine but without those nic side effects.

Trying to use RSO for sleep is overkill. RSO is very-very concentrated and very-very potent and long lasting. I suggest you use a different cannabis delivery system such as tinctures. They act more rapidly when you allow the fluid to puddle and sit under your tongue for a few seconds and then swallow. When you find the right THC/CBD combination for you it should get you to sleep but not be hung over. I use RSO daily in the morning only.

I agree with this. And many people find different ways of taking it does different things. Edibles calm my body but are less cerebral for me. Tinctures are pretty quick (I look for brands that quickly absorb, since I hate swallowing that stuff!) and portable. Flower makes micro dosing really easy and hits my head before my flesh.

Experimenting and learning.

I really ought to take notes. I know, for example, which strains help my pain, or anxiety, or whatever. And the terpene info is getting better and better.

I love legal cannabis. Never thought it would happen in my lifetime.

Don't know how I'd be surviving without it in the US medical climate.

I’ve been using RSO for about a year. I put in in my own capsules and take twice daily in addition to a CBD:THC 24:1 tincture twice a day and periodic vaping. It helped me kick off oxycodone for breakthrough pain. I also use Buprenorphine patches 1x every 7 days. My chronic pain if for the most part controlled.

is it ok to take buprenorphine when doin rso tincture?

REPLY

Since RSO lasts 6-8 hours and buprenorphine 24/7 all depends on your tolerance. I use a 1:1 CBD:THC 2x day and have no issues. I do all food shopping and meal prep for my wife and I and have no issues.

I was also told I had to get off medical marijuana to continue pain management. I found a Pain Center that allows Medical Marijuana cards and does not test for it. It does not take insurance and is $250 a month but so worth it. The first visit is in-office in Mesa, AZ and then virtual appointments with office visit every 6 months. Drug test to make sure it is being taken every 3 months. It has been a lifesaver because RSO and marijuana helps SO MUCH with inflamtion and nerve pain and my percocets work for other pain so between IB Prophen, THC/CBD/CBG/CBN and percocet I have a pretty decent quality of life. I have CFS so cannot work but hey at least I am somewhat pain free..
