Digestion complications after COVID
I had covid in May it was pretty bad, but was able to isolate. I have had symptoms come back and some days I have been fine, but for the past month I have experiences with Severe Constipation, being Shaky, dizziness, migraine headaches, loss of appetite and vomiting, but no fevers. I have been so distorted I can't go in to work or drive. I can't even clean my home without feeling as though I am going to faint. I have tried using laxatives, but they don't work. I am now dealing with fecal impactions

Had CoVid May 1, 2022. My main issue has been post-exertional malaise, with occasional diarrheas' and dizziness. This last week the Gastrointestinal issues really kicked in. Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and even the thought of eating make my stomach clench. This dizziness is rampid now, I even feel shaky and dizzy sitting or lying down. My son is driving me again because I feel I'm unsafe driving. Saw the doctor yesterday, and my C reactive protein is slightly high. He ruled out infection and anemia as that all looked normal He prescribed anti-nausea pills and hopes that they will help me eat and feel better. My appointment with the long CoVid Clinic at OHSU is on
Feb. 23, 7 months after the initial referral. I'm tired of sick me.
Thank you so much for your comment and your post yes I have reached out about disability but under the current circumstances I'm not able to apply yet I'm currently working on a lawsuit that involves my previous employer for false termination as far as your diet and everything is concerned you might want to try to talk to your doctor and see about maybe looking into this one they gave me Lenzess 145 mg. This is helped me a great deal I also cannot do miralax or anything that I would have to take orally I don't do well but one thing I have found is you have to test to see what you can tolerate as far as food for me it has been chicken pot pies bananas and any type of melon fruit the doctor had advised me to stay away from dairy products all together and to do a low fiber diet but it's because I have gastroparesis and also my kidneys are starting to close down on me I also drink body armor versus Gatorade or Powerade best of luck to you please keep in touch you can always hit me up on the message private message
You are correct that currently is the situation but we have to continue to take a stand and let our voices be heard because long covid is real and it is not going anywhere anytime soon it appears
I have been successfully treated with Xifaxin (for the past 4 years non stop) for SIBO that took 10 years to diagnose.
I had COVID first in December 2020. I was quite sick and had lasting migraine and gut flare up for awhile, but eventually both settled back to normal. I was vaccinated Feb 2021.
January 2022 I had COVID for a second time...my migraines flared up.
December 2022 I had COVID for the THIRD time and my gut feels just as it did prior to my diagnosis of SIBO and I am miserable with intense bloating, shortness of breath, constipation, weight gain, lightheadedness and fatigue.
I'm 56, a RN who was fit and otherwise healthy. I cannot find relief or help.
I have a few Posts that I have shared since the beginning of January, but look at my profile you will be able to see all that I have experienced since my first in February a week after I lost a very special part of my life. I got Covid and where we live we didn't have test. So they went by symptoms. It was mostly in my respiratory system.. and Nero system than anything. I was deathly sick. There has been so much that we have been through for the past 3 years now. I could go into detail but it would take a while but please just check out my profile if there's any questions or anything even just talk. I'd be more than happy to talk to you about it I wish I had more time thank you
I've been taking 4 stool softner pills (docusate sodium) every night which I found helps me move my bowls the next day (I never had a problem before long covid).
It’s the gut Dysbiosis from the virus. I am dealing with same stuff 6 weeks now. Add burping and it’s exact same.
Have you found anything to relieve your symptoms?
I feel just as miserable as prior to my diagnosis and ongoing treatment with Xifaxin and my GI doctor has no idea what to do.
I tried getting into a GI doctor in Philadelphia and there is a one YEAR wait list to get an appointment.
Very discouraging.
Some. Yes. I need to order triosmart to test myself. My VA doc doesn’t test for SIBO. Lol. Very small bland meals. Low fodmap. Smoothies. All helping.
I normally eat small meals but now am forcing myself to eat because 10 pounds of water weight for someone weighing 112 pounds causes me to have trouble breathing with the bloating.
What is Triosmart?
