Stage 4 Lung Cancer with Mets to Spine: Any advice on treatment, diet?

My Dad had a fusion c5 and the biopsy determined that he had 4th stage lung cancer that spread to his spine. Is there any advice, treatments or diet that anyone can recommend. Thank you

That is the report from the PET scan. Sorry to see that he’s going through this, it’s so difficult.
The doctor should order testing on a sample of his cancerous tissue, lymph node fluid, or even just blood. That can be analyzed to determine what’s driving the cancer, it’s generally called “biomarker testing”. Many hospitals won’t do this analysis in their own lab, it often gets sent to an off site lab, and can take a couple of weeks for the results to come back. So maybe it’s just not ready yet. It can be critical in guiding treatment decisions, in my opinion.
I’m a patient, but don’t have a formal clinical background, that’s my disclaimer. : )

Thanks for your message!! I will ask my genetic doctor for this biomarker test. I have Lynch Syndrome and have had genetic testing done. This is interesting so thanks for the post.

The marker came back. Metastatic non-small cell lung cancer
Marker- PD-L1. He has a dietitian assigned and went thru his first radiation treatment. He has immunotherapy scheduled. The Doctors say he'll never get better or in remission. Also that the treatments won't end.
