@nosurgery- I understand especially in lite of the other complications & experiences, but I would still visit with at least 2 surgeons and have this discussion. Don't decide only on what is the simpler option, but try to come to a consensus in your discussions with both Dr's. I still believe that the vast majority of doctors still take their oath of "Do no harm" serious. May God give you wisdom & disernment as you work through this. Jim @thankful

5 ReactionsGood thoughts, @thankful.
As I may have mentioned in an earlier post, @nosurgery, it might be helpful to take another supportive person with you to your appointments. Sometimes, I have been anxious about an appointment and having a second, less anxious person than myself, was helpful in sorting through what the doctor had to say. Give it some thought, @nosurgery.

2 ReactionsWhat is the most recommended bone broth to use if you’re unable to make homemade? I have diverticulosis with recurring exacerbation of inflammation and really need to reset my gut health.
I also have diverticulosis, along with severe GERD and some esophageal problems. I don't know what the most recommended bone broth is, but I use Sam's Choice reduced sodium. It's the only one my system will tolerate.

1 ReactionI also have diverticulitis and recently had a resection done. My Instant Pot gives me an easy 2.5 quarts of "tasty" bone broth in no time. I can even tolerate the pressure cooked chicken on good days. It's so easy, I make it every month and have it on hand when my digestive system needs a rest. After my surgery last month.... it was the best free food for my first two weeks. I'll check to see if there are any You-tube videos on it.

1 ReactionI’ve made my own bone broth but when I can’t, one I use is organic Kettle & Fire. If you peruse the grocery shelf, you’ll obviously find many brands. Read the labels for ingredients. If recommended ones aren’t available, look for organic, slow simmered, vegetables, herbs, apple cider vinegar, and no oils. Slow simmering bones allows the release of all the nutrients from the bones. I also use the bone broth not only for soups but also for quinoa, amaranth, and rice. It adds additional flavor.
Hope this helps!

1 ReactionThank you for the suggestions. I will seriously look into it.
this msg was a long time ago so not sure if you will get this , have your symptoms come back ? i also have had a sigmoid surgery in 2 yrs later symptoms have returned
Thank you for sharing that “Scoop”! I plan to try that. I have been having lower left abdominal pain for recurring for about 5 months almost daily. Colonoscopy 2 years ago and ctscan last month showed diverticula which my GI explained is diverticulosis and said it’s “annoying - some people swear by peppermint oil. “ I have found that minimally helpful. Peppermint tea about the same.
In the past when I tried to amp up fiber I included small amounts of psyllium in my morning breakfasts only. I find the pain a bit more severe than annoying. So I will try anything that sounds sensible and has helped other!
