@l0lag0lag0b3 also, it is my understanding that they typically take the donors left kidney and put it on the recipient’s right side, unless there is a specific reason to the opposite.

Yes Jennifer0726 typically the left kidney is taken from the donor, in my case – my wife's right Kidney was taken due to space issues/management for the transplanted kidney connectivity.
I was not sure first if this would impact her kidney performance, after 1st. year the left kidney is performance is normal.
