Carcinoid Syndrome: Can it spread to the head?

Posted by arnana54 @arnana54, Jan 8, 2023

I had a tumor removed 11 yrs ago but still have issues with areas showing up on my lymph nodes near my stomach I have had Luthera treatments and will have scans next month but I wonder if it can spread to the head? I have been having a soreness toward the top of my head on right side and I never had this ache like this, I keep thinking it’s sinus? But wonder?

@arnana54, welcome. Carcinoid tumors are slow growing neuroendocrine tumors. If they spread it is most typically to the liver, lymph nodes and lungs. I can understand that any unusual symptoms, like pains and aches, can throw one into worrying "could this be the cancer?"

I know you said you will be having scans next month, but it sounds like you should contact your doctor to ask about the issues you're having with your head or sinuses. Have you recently been ill with the flu or a cold?
